When traveling to Medellín, staying safe is key to enjoying your trip. Here are a few simple tips to keep in mind:

  • Keep your belongings close: Use a crossbody bag or money belt to avoid pickpockets, especially in busy areas like the metro.

  • Stick to trusted transportation: Use Uber over local taxis (and def not accepting rides off the street).

  • Stay in well-lit areas at night: Popular neighborhoods like El Poblado are among the safest and offer plenty to explore.

  • Trust your instincts: If something doesn’t feel right, don’t hesitate to change your plans.
