This Colombian Getaway Didn’t Feel Reel 🤯

Guatapé was straight-up unreal.

May 9, 2023:

My Colombian girlfriend and I pulled up to Bosko, this bougie glamping hotel in the hills (about 2 hours from Medellin). First thing they did was hand us some mystery herbal cocktail.

No clue what was in it, but it slapped.

The weather was a perfect 81 degrees, sunny, not a cloud in sight.

The hotel had ten rooms and zero elevators, so the staff had to haul our luggage five full minutes down a trail to our room.

We followed, low-key sweating lol.

Then we saw it.

A jacuzzi with a straight-up insane view of the lake, surrounded by mountains that looked like islands. Honestly a great honeymoon spot.

We hopped on a speedboat, reggaeton blasting, munching on some no-name Colombian chips and sipping Hatsu iced tea (highly recommend).

Quick history lesson: years ago, Guatape used to be a full-fledged city with mountains surrounding it. Then one day, the city was filled with water so high that the mountains now look like islands (but they are literally mountains lol).

Anyway, then we hit the jet skis. The water was so calm it felt illegal. We hit 50 MPH, absolutely flying.

At one point, we passed Pablo Escobar’s old house. Pro tip: never say his name in Colombia.

Guatape is also home to El Peñón, a 65-million-year-old rock that’s 654 feet tall with 740 steps to the top. People literally visit just to see a rock. 😂

At night, we hit the jacuzzi, and out of nowhere, a full-on thunderstorm rolled in.

Lightning rayed across the lake, rain poured, and we just sat there, soaking it all in. It lasted almost two hours.

Oh yeah, and we ate wagyu ribeye steaks INSIDE the hot tub like kings.

Easily one of the sickest weekends ever.
